The
*#@($#'n weatherman was right! This
is what the 3rd round of Pro looked like. The wind got nasty and Kevin
decided the race was going to have to be canceled after he saw the 3rd
round of Pro go down the track slipping and sliding the whole way.
The
complete 3rd round of Pro to be run over?
I don't know if this is official, just what I heard.
-
My Opinion (which don't mean jack, but I'm going to tell you anyway!)
This round should count. Both racers fought the same track conditions
right?
He's
Baacck! Yep, that's Slammin' Sammy Franco.
Sammy, from Anthony New Mexico has returned after more than a 3 year break.
There's not a car around that launches as cool as Sammy's 4 Speed Nova!
Well, Rodney Ward's Truck is pretty wild too - but then again, that's
not a car so I guess I'm still right. Anyway, he's back and he's not alone
either. He brought his son Sammy Franco who was tearing up the Street
class in his Nova. Candy Mesa's son Daniel was also racing in street in
his Chevy truck. Huh? Mesa's son drives a Chevy? Well if you think that's
strange, Tobey Torres' son was racing a Honda! But I must admit it was
pretty quick, complety stock other than the exhaust and ran low 16's.
Definately impressive for a 4 cylinder. It was good to see even more second
generation racers.
Joe
Alvarado of El Paso
won Saturday's Gambler race so I'm sure he came through the gates Sunday
with a lot of confidence!
Pat
Neal of Tuscon showed up in his Vette to run the Quick 16 and Pro.
I think this car is For Sale by the way.
Chad
Wright (El Paso), swapped in a bigger 3800 stall convertor into his
Chevy Luv and ran 12.30's. This is more than a second faster than last
year! You can bet he was happy with that hundred dollar used convertor!
There
were a few Arroyo Seco racer's that couldn't wait till the end of March
to race! This Camaro sponsored by Richard's Autmotive was running
Modified.
Eddie
Chacon of Dell City is going to run Pro this year. His dragster was not
quite finished yet so he decided to bring the Chevelle out to pick up
some points. His best ET of the day was in the 12.40's but he ended up
winning all three rounds with an 11.99 dial! The Mod racers must be intimidating!
Hill
Family Racing had the newest race car out - Donna's new Don Davis ford
powered dragster!
