The
Fast and the Filthy out at Dezert Demonz. Speed Shop Shootout, Mud Bogs,
and Live Music
Easily
the fastest pass ever at Dezert Demonz - Rick
Peterson was out with his blown alcohol dragster to represent
his shop Show-n-Go in Northeast. Rick was the only entry
for the last minute "Outlaw Class" rumored to have a couple
other cars that didn't show. But that was fine with him as he thundered
down the track anyway. It actually hooked up decently thanks to DC Motorsports
and HP Racing for laying down a bunch of VHT.
The
V8 class had some very quick cars but it was an all Evolution
Racing Finals for the big V8 class. Joe Pena and Eric
Brock, both with big blocks and nitrous, tore through the class
and faced off in the finals. Eric got a jump off the line and stayed in
front of him the whole way down. It was a really good run!
It
was obvious that Speed Factory had more entries than
any speed shop and their entry Jake Smith took first
in his turbo Honda in the 4 cylinder class against another Speed Factory
entry - a turbo charged Acura Integra (I think his name is Kris - let
me know if you know)
TWO
VIDEOS - thanks to Ray Frescas! It's dark, but you can still get the idea.
Joe
Pena vs. "The Shop" Nova
Joe Pena vs. Cobra Mustang
Joe
Pena had his 540 powered Nova out for Evolution Racing
in El Paso's lower valley on North Loop. Joe had some really
wild runs but still made it all the way to the finals were he had to face
teamate Eric Brock. Bad ass race!
Alan
Alvarez, from THR (Texas Hot Rods) on Carnegee off Montana.
Alan's
small block put up a hell of fight, running right with Eric in the semi's.
