SOUTHWEST
SUPERCHARGERS put on a hell
of show!
Rick
Peterson, from El Paso, ran a strong 7.80 leading the pack after
the first session. Then Van Ivy came back in his Blown
Hemi Altered and ran a 7.69. Keith Mauldin was going
for the track record, trying to hit 200 mph but just missed it.
ARROYO SECO NOVEMBER DRAGS
Alamagordo Pro Final - Gordy King
over Roy Moore in Pro.
Gordy King Jr had
one of those days when he just couldn't lose. He won the whole race and
the Dash for Cash runnin a perfect 8.860 on a 8.86 dial.
Gordy
King over Roy Moore in the final.
The
Semi's- Roy Moore got by Mike
Armstrong and
Gordy
King got the bye to the Finals.
All
El Paso Final in Mod - Ray Villareal JR wins in his very
first time driving a race car beating George Aguilar in
the final.
The
semi's
Mike
Lopez was driving a really quick Ford Truck (his first time racing
it) and made it all the way to the semi's where he redlighted to Ray Jr.
George
Aguilar got the semi final round bye run
into the finals.
Ron
Cameau won Motorcycle beating out Kevin Deiter in the final.
This
was Kevin Deiter's second race ever and made it to the finals both times
he's raced so far.
Dusty
Rigg's brought out his dirt track car and took out Javier
Estrada in the finals.
Ray
and Sue Stringer ran a memorial pass for Gene Kessinger. Nice
side by side burnout and run!
Keith
Mauldin was
going for the track record, trying to hit 200 MPH! He drifted onto the
centerline and still ran a 7.10 @ 191 MPH!
I
heard that they hurt something on the first pass so they couldn't come
back for a second try at the track record. Mauldin
has an all out NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster with a chassis built by Rick
Esparza in Las Cruces.

Drag
trucks are cool! I've never seen this one - looked good. Dodge powered
too!
Here's
the monster that powers David Rodriguez's bad ass '69 Camaro. 9.70's all
motor - a Scott Shafiroff motor, I've heard it's a 540. Dual flying toilets
mechanical fuel injection on a tunnel ram! Damn, you know that looks good!
David ran Super Chevy in Tuscon Saturday and Arroyo Sunday.
The
defending 2002 Arroyo Seco Pro Points champ Sammy Torres same up a few
rounds short of repeating this year. It was a tight points race in Pro
this year between 5 drivers.
